Man can't get a tattoo because the trademark law won't allow him.

Written by DKD Trade , Monday, 20 July 2009

Strange as it may seem,it looks like a man from Melbourne tried to make a tattoo with the city seal.

The strange part comes now, when the city manager rejected his request, because the law won't allow the trademark sailboat to be linked anywhere else, but on official documents. Eric Ellebracht, the 45 year old man who wanted this tattoo, said about his intentions :"It's like the people who have the 'I'm a Melbourne resident and I'm proud of it' bumper sticker on their car .I'm just taking that to a little bit of an extreme."
Even though for using the seal without the city manager's permission can be ppunished with jail,Michael Moore ,the city spokesman approves that in this case they can't talk about using the seal in bad faith. "At the code level, it's perfectly clear what the intent of the seal is and that is not Mr. Ellebracht's purpose".
